Post-natal exercise classes

An initiative of Westmead Private Hospital, these classes are designed to make exercise as accessible as possible for new mums. Post-natal exercise classes is a series of mat-based exercises aimed primarily at improving core strength following childbirth, The exercises incorporate:

  • cardiovascular conditioning
  • weight bearing exercise to focus on improving bone mineral density
  • stretches, and
  • abdominal and pelvic floor strength

At post-natal exercise classes you’re welcome to bring your newborn along with you. During the class, you can stop exercising at any time to feed or comfort your baby, rejoining the class when you feel comfortable.
