Mid-October saw a number of our team attend and present at the biennial Australian Physiotherapy Association Conference at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. About 2,000 physiotherapists from as far afield as Europe and Africa came together at the conference to hear and discuss the latest in physiotherapy research.
2014 Commonwealth Games Appointment
In July this year the medical and physiotherapy appointments for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow were announced. Our senior physiotherapist, Paula Peralta from the Penrith rooms was one of 6 Sports Physiotherapists in Australia appointed to headquarters for Team Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for Paula and the practice wishes her all the best for the upcoming Games.
World Championships with the Australian Gems
In July 2013, physiotherapist Paula Peralta from our Penrith rooms joined the Australian Under 19’s women’s basketball team (Gems) and headed to Europe for World Championships. This was the final stages of a 2 year journey with numerous camps and a few tours. The Australian Gems had not medalled in 16 years so it was to be an arduous task.
Outstanding Medal Haul for Swim Team in Berlin
Brett Doring from our Norwest rooms has recently returned from an exciting swimming tour of Berlin. He accompanied nine talented swimmers; plus coaches and other staff, to the Internationale Deutsche Meisterschaften (IDM).
